Chr i i thy are performances between me and my AI doppelgänger. We’re teaching each other and the audience, online and in-person, how to be queerly disfluent. Within the disability justice movement, it’s dysfluent — ‘dys’ meaning to reframe stuttering, stammering, and lisping from a disorder that needs fixing to a desirable and transgressive form of communication. When queered it’s even stranger, more desirable, and hyper-transgressive — the how of Chr i i thy. When gayed it’s stupidly happy — the why of Chr i i thy. The project will also be reimagined as an installation, photography, and a book using documentation from the performances. Coming in late 2026, early 2027.
