Re: Kevin is a book of poetry about surveillance. It’s part of a larger series where Chris obsesses over, tracks down, and mourns the passing of a porn star. In his search for Kevin, Chris used Ancestry.com to buy information, and in so doing, gave Ancestry his information. They emailed Chris over two years using his personal data and browser cookies to algorithmically generate subject lines that felt progressively repetitive, humorous, creepy, then dreadful. Published by TROLL THREAD, exhibited in Beijing, collected by the Library of Congress, and read on Montez Press Radio, this book demonstrates the artist’s interest in computational, networked poetics.
