I’m a new media artist who loves to collaborate.

I use art, personally as an American cis white disabled queer man, to embody, mediate, and critique masculinity — where once the revolution was my boyfriend (Bruce LaBruce) now radical softness is a boundless form of resistance (GenderFail). I collaborate to get outside myself, to hold space and time for art that is different than what I know. It matters that our work exists in context, relation, and dialogue — where we can safely affirm and/or change our minds.

My art has been part of numerous exhibitions, festivals, and conferences around the world. My Rhizome commission was named by Hyperallergic as the best individual work of Internet art in 2016, acquired by the Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art, and exhibited at Graphische Sammlung ETH Zurich in 2019. Rhizome additionally accessioned my Tumblr in 2023. Other highlights include a Eyebeam fellowship, NEW INC membership, New Jersey Council on the Arts award, Les Rencontres d’Arles pavilion, Art Book in China exhibition, NEW MUSEUM talk, Palais de Tokyo performance, Art in America review, and Elephant magazine profile.

My collaborations include a live-streaming network for artists. is this thing on? will be exhibiting next year at the Museum of the Moving Image in partnership with Onassis ONX. Additionally, THING has received support from the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, Goethe Institute, Gray Area, Meta Open Arts, and NEW INC. For the International Center of Photography, I co-produced a year of queer programming with publishers GenderFail and Larker that featured work by Allison Parrish, American Artist, Molly Soda, Morehshin Allahyari, Nora Khan, and Porpentine Charity Heartscape. As a member of NEW INC, I co-produced a virtual exhibition for New Art City with essays by Zachary Kaplan and Lindsay Howard that was reviewed in Art in America.

My editions, including a trilogy for TROLL THREAD, can be found in the libraries at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, Graphische Sammlung ETH Zurich, Library of Congress, Walker Art Center, International Center of Photography, The Poetry Collection at the University of Buffalo, School of Visual Arts, Wendy’s Subway, 本 hon books, and Printed Matter.
